Rutherglen is where we're based, and G73 is the postcode we sweep more than any other. That means short lead times — usually same-week — and a van that's already in the area rather than travelling in.

The housing here varies a lot. The sandstone tenements and terraces around Main Street, Stonelaw and Burnside often have original clay-lined flues that have never been relined, and many were capped or partially blocked when gas central heating went in decades ago. The newer estates towards Cambuslang and Halfway are a different job again, usually modern stoves with stainless liners.

We sweep both, and we know which faults to expect in each before we arrive.

What a Rutherglen Sweep Includes

A full power clean of the flue using dust-controlled equipment, so there's no mess left in your living room. Visual inspection of the appliance, liner and accessible flue components. A HETAS-compliant written certificate issued on the day — the document your insurer asks for and your solicitor will want if you sell.

CCTV camera survey is available at any appointment. We'd particularly recommend it if you've just bought the property, recently changed the appliance, or have no idea when the flue was last looked at. On older Rutherglen stock that's often the case.

Appointments run weekdays with selected Saturdays.

Liners and Flue Internals

A lot of the flues in Rutherglen's older housing were built for open coal fires and never updated. If a stove has been fitted into one of those without a liner, or the liner is past its life, you get poor draw, smoke coming back into the room, and a real risk from carbon monoxide.

We inspect the liner and flue internals as part of every sweep and tell you plainly what we find. If a reline is needed we'll say so and quote for it. If it isn't, we'll say that too.

We don't invent work. Most jobs here are a straightforward annual sweep and nothing more.
