What we collect, why we hold it, and how to get rid of it. No cookies, no tracking, nothing sold to anybody.
Last updated 23 August 2026. Jaconelli Chimney Specialists Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us on 07440 173696 or at jaconellichimneysltd@gmail.com.
We collect what we need to sweep your chimney and come back next year. We don't sell it, we don't share it for marketing, and this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking of any kind.
When you book: your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property, its postcode, the type of appliance, the type and number of flues, and anything you tell us in the notes field.
When we attend: a record of the work carried out, the certificate issued, and any observations about the condition of the flue or stack. Where an inspection includes photographs or camera footage, we keep those with the job record.
If you contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp, we keep that correspondence.
We do not ask for or store card details. Payment on completion is taken in person; bank transfers for inspections are made directly to our account and we see only what your bank shows on the statement.
To carry out the work — performance of our contract with you. Without an address and a contact number we cannot attend.
To send your confirmation, certificate and calendar invitation — performance of our contract.
To remind you when a sweep is next due — our legitimate interest in maintaining a customer relationship, and the soft opt-in that applies to existing customers. Reminders go to people we have actually worked for, roughly eleven months after the last visit, and stop after two attempts. Every one carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also just tell us to stop.
To ask how we did — the same legitimate interest, and equally easy to opt out of.
To keep proper business records — legal obligation. Invoices and job records are kept for the periods HMRC and our insurers require.
We use a small number of suppliers who process data on our behalf, under contract, and only on our instructions:
Supabase hosts our booking database and customer records. Our booking data is held in the London region.
Netlify hosts this website.
Google provides our calendar, so your appointment appears in our diary, and serves the fonts this site uses — which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
Resend and Google Mail deliver our email.
Some of these are based outside the UK, and where that is the case the transfer is covered by the standard contractual protections those suppliers put in place. We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.
Job records and certificates are kept for seven years, which covers our tax obligations and the period an insurer may reasonably ask about past work. Contact details are kept while you remain a customer, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back. If you ask us to delete you, we will — except where we are legally required to retain an invoice.
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to us using it for reminders, or ask for it in a portable format. Ring or email and we'll deal with it — normally well inside the one month the law allows, and at no charge.
If you think we've handled your information badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
This site sets none. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no tracking. The only thing loaded from a third party is the typeface, from Google's font service, which necessarily sees your IP address in the process.
Our services are sold to adults and we do not knowingly collect information about children.
If we change how we handle your information we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
If anything here isn't clear, ring and ask. We'd rather explain it than have you guess.
