Why biomass flues are different

Wood chip and pellet systems foul faster than any domestic chimney and they fail differently. Deposits build in the flue way and start cutting efficiency long before anything triggers an alarm — so the first sign is usually a fuel bill, not a fault light.

Acidic condensate does the real damage. It attacks the flue wall from the inside, and by the time it's visible from the outside you're replacing sections rather than cleaning them.
